All album sales in October go to Great Shape!

All of the revenues from sales of my new album "All the Love that I've Found" in the month of October will go to Great Shape, a fantastic group that works for the progress of the Jamaican people. More specifically, since 1988 they have brought dentists to Jamaica to fix peoples teeth for free! Today they are the worlds largest dental humanitarian effort. They also have a literacy team that assists children and adults with reading and brings thousands of books and computers to Jamaica. It's been my great honor to be involved with group for over a decade and I am so thankful that I can use my music to help out. No matter where you buy the album: iTunes, cdbaby.com, CD Coop in Ashland, Musichead in Medford, or directly from me at a show or on the street, all the money that I receive will be donated to Great Shape. We are back from Jamaica and soon to return. We had an amazing time. We got a bunch of footage to share but I wanted to put this one up in the mean time. I asked some kids at Breadnut Hill Primary School in Ocho Rios to show me a couple of dance moves and sing a bit. These kids put it down. Make sure you watch it all the way through and see Rupert's verse. A lot of talent.

We are freshly back from Jamaica and soon to return. We had an amazing trip. The night after we got back we went to see one our favorite artists of all time, Pato Banton. During the set he pulled Marko up on stage to sing "Don't Sniff Coke" with him and the Mystic Roots Band. It was a fun night. Zelly Rock opened the evening in fine style with our mutual courtship the Escort Service. Enjoy the video!

We are heading to Jamaica for 3 weeks. We'll be working with Great Shape as a part of the SuperKids Literacy Project. Great Shape is an amazing group that has been providing dental care in Jamaica since 1988. This is the firtst year that we are incorporating a literacy project for young and old.

While we're there we will also be writing a story on the trip, and interviewing several reggae and dancehall artists.

We'll keep you posted as it unfolds.

Marko (from Team Ruffkuts) has spent the last month in the studio preparing his debut album, All The Love That I've Found. It is a solid rub-a-dub reggae workout with many other influences. It incorporates stylistic flavors from hiphop, dub, jazz, drum&bass, Cuban son glitch-hop and many more without straying from its reggae core. This album has been a long time coming for Marko and features many great friends and players from groups such as Djambi, The Escort Service, Rootdown, The Scientist, The T-Club and more. He will be performing many of these songs at the NorthWest World Reggae Festival 2008 and the set will be mixed by The Scientist.
